Description

Asian Mental Health Resource Unit provides advocacy, one to one support and group therapy to the Asian community suffering from any form of mental health difficulties. Awaaz is the only Asian mental health resource unit in the voluntary sector in Nottingham. The organisation is a key provider of support for people from the Asian community (and their carers) in Nottingham experiencing any form of mental health difficulties.

* Awaaz provides a direct service to the Asian community in Nottinghamshire
* For individuals going through psychological / emotional distress
* For individuals already in contact with the psychiatric services
* For the family / carers of those who are experiencing any form of mental health difficulties / concerns
* For individuals in the community who are isolated
* Awaaz also has a resource library and its facilities for giving advice, information etc. is open to all - i.e. users of services, practitioners and to all sections of the community
* Awaaz provides a confidential service in English, Punjabi, Mirpuri, Urdu and Hindi
