Description
BEGIN is the central information point for advice on adult Basic Skills in Nottinghamshire. BEGIN advises over 3500 adults and groups a year about local basic Maths and English for speakers of other languages (ESOL) courses. Students work at their own pace and level - from reading and spelling - to the new GCSE-level National Tests. National Tests are free, multiple choice, and take about an hour to do. Our advice is free and confidential. We offer adults free, confidential impartial advice about local literacy, numeracy & ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) classes. The Service has the Matrix Quality Mark for advice work and currently helps over 3000 people a year to find the right learning opportunities.
BEGIN also supports over 200 organisations and community groups that wish to address local Skills for Life issues, and people interested in volunteering and teaching.
