Description
BECONN - Black & Ethnic Minority Carers of Nottingham & Nottinghamshire aim to provide:
An appropriate and good quality carers support service to carers from Black & Ethnic Minority communities
Information and advice to professionals and agencies on issues affecting BME Carers in order to enhance local services
Culturally appropriate information and support by phone, outreach and through carers groups
A range of training, educational and social activities promoting skills and confidence
Advocacy - speaking on behalf of carers so they get the best out of the services
A Link Service for young children with disabilities and parent carers, including holiday, after school activities and support with educational concerns
A Break Service providing culturally appropriate short breaks with sitting / escorting services enabling carers to have a break.
