Description

For 40 Years Family First has provided a range of Community based services to local people. We are able to provide housing in the Nottingham area, Tenancy Support assisting tenants to maintain their tenancies. A Furniture Project providing furniture to local people as referred as being in need. We are also able to arrange collection of furniture items that we pass on to local people. A hostel for young single mothers and a range of training and volunteering opportunities that include warehousing retailing and administration. Family First focuses on four main areas of work:

1. Recycling Services - we collect, repair and re-distribute furniture, white goods, children’s equipment and clothing to people on low income across Nottingham City and across the County of Nottinghamshire. We also run two small charity shops.

2. Housing Services - we provide affordable housing for single people, couples and families, many of whom are on low income. We have 386 properties in Nottingham City and across the County. We also provide a Tenancy Support Service designed to help people to maintain and sustain their tenancies.

3. Children and Family Services - we provide childcare, respite care and parenting support to children and families deemed to be in need or at risk. We provide a Supervised Safe Contact Centre, which helps to maintain contact between children and their parents. We also provide Supported Accommodation for young single mothers aged 16-25 and their babies.

4. Mental Health Support Services - we run a Day Care Centre for adults suffering from mental health and emotional problems, which provides advocacy support and guidance as well as a range of structured activities. We also run support for people from BME communities aged 16-25 suffering from mental health and problems.
