Description
Forest Fields Improvement Association started as a new resident and community group in Dec 2007. We aim get residents of different cultures working together to build pride in the area, and to improve relationships. The Association welcomes involvement from residents, local organisations, businesses and faith groups, as all contribute to the quality of life in the neighbourhood
In 2008 we created 250 hanging baskets, walked in Dovedale, played tape-ball cricket on the Forest, and ate out together at a local restaurant. In 2009 we organized youth events, hanging basket re-planting, a fund-raising veggie meal at the Sumac centre for over 70 people, and yet more social activities.
We have discussed planning applications, litter, dog mess, CCTV, traffic, community information, play and youth facilities - and fed our views to Council officers, Councillors, etc.
Different sub-groups meet or email each other to focus on their own interests, sometimes stimulating new organisations to form
Working in the Partnership Council area (Area 4)
