Description
Literacy Volunteers help children of primary school age in local schools who are having reading difficulties overcome their problems and find that reading can be fun.
Volunteer opportunities:
Volunteers provide one to one assistance to children selected by the school to receive the benefit of the help provided. Volunteers attend the school one morning or afternoon per week,term time only, and will see the same 3 - 5 children each visit.
Volunteers are trained and supported in school and travel expenses are paid.
An Enhanced Disclosure is required from the Criminal Records Bureau for all applicants.

We currently assist in some 139 schools in both the City of Nottingham and the County of Nottinghamshire helping some 1000 children per week.
