Description

The Partnership Council is a charity based in Hyson Green that works with local people to improve an inner city area of Nottingham. We run a number of projects such as work to improve parks including Kirkstead Park and the Forest Recreation Ground; environmental education such as our Rat Burger stall which encourages people not to throw fast food waste on the pavement; and an Older Person’s Forum.

We have an Area 4 Record company (http://www.area4records.co.uk) which produces and sells compilation CD’s of local talented musicians. We have a Spring Clean Group and Community Safety Group that brings together residents and other agencies to tackle cleansing and community safety issues in the area. Both groups run a number of projects including clean up days, crime prevention campaigns and education such as our game http://www.poopdoggydog.co.uk

We run the Children’s Forum in partnership with 12 primary schools, which amongst other things runs a small grants fund where children make the funding decisions.

We have a Volunteering Development Project, which links with this VoluntaryDirectory website and a national website, do-it.org.uk., as well as CVS and many local voluntary organisations. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer please contact our Volunteering Development worker, Moby Farrands on 0115 9708200.

The area we cover includes Hyson Green, Radford, New Basford, Forest Fields, Arboretum, Sherwood Rise, part of Lenton Sands and the Park. If you want to get involved in improving your area please contact us.
